As I think about the upcoming Mother's Day I think about my past and what a mother means to me. It is more than someone who gave birth to you, or shares your genes, even more than someone who loves you more than anything in the world.
A Mother is someone who is tough when needed, but holds you when your down. Who can look at you and say everything on their mind without making a sound. Someone who knows how your day has gone by what your wearing! This is what my Grandmother is to me, all who have met me know that my "mother" was not a big part of my teenage years, nor did she help me to develop life skills or responsibility. I am thankful that the one decision she made for me was the best thing that's ever happened to me, (it was the day she took me to my Grannie's and asked her to take care of me.)
My grandmother is the strongest most caring and forgiving woman I know and although she is not my mother I don't know what I would have done with out her. She has taught me responsibility for my decisions, forgiveness for those who've hurt me, respect for myself , my home and others, confidence in every decision I make, and Love for anyone; no matter what they've done!
On Mother's Day I think of the woman without whom I'd be lost; and hope that for many more years, and when I have children of my own they will also know and love the woman who I would be honored to call my mother!!! I Love you and Hope you have a Wonderful Mother's Day!!!!
